At Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD), the health and safety of our customers and employees are always a top priority. As a reminder, COVID-19 has no impact on the quality or supply of your tap water. As always, your tap water is available, plentiful, and safe.

To provide additional information regarding our response plan, below are several frequently asked questions and our responses.

Is EVMWD Open?

With health and safety of our staff and customers of the utmost importance, EVMWD will limit potential exposure by closing its lobby to walk-in business. Customers can use a variety of options to pay their bills:

  • Online bill pay at www.onlinebiller.com/evmwd.
  • Automated phone system by calling (951) 674-3146
  • CheckFreePay Payment locations throughout the service area
  • EVMWD Mobile app available from Google Play and Apple Store
  • Drop box located at EVMWD Headquarters

 

Does COVID-19 affect my drinking water?

No. The coronavirus has no impact on the quality or supply of your tap water. As always, your tap water is available, plentiful and safe. The quality and supply of your water is not impacted.

 

I am going to have trouble paying my bill due to furlough or job loss as a result of COVID-19. Will you shut off my water?

As a response to this pandemic and its potential long- and short-term effects, we have suspended all water shut-offs for non-payment through June 1, 2020. We recognize this time may present particular hardships on our customers and want to ensure you that your water will not be turned off due to non-payment. We will also waive any late fees for non-payment. This is a temporary measure, but Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District will be available to work with customers who are unable to pay their bill by the due date. Please note, customers are still responsible for paying their water bill.

Why are EVMWD crews still working if there is a stay at home order?

Our crews perform an essential service. Providing clean drinking water and the effective collection of wastewater is of the utmost importance. Our crews will work to maintain at least six feet of distance between each other and the public whenever physically possible.

 

Should I buy bottled water?

While it is always advisable to stock bottled water at home in case of emergencies that disrupt the water supply, EVMWD does not expect this health outbreak to disrupt service to local water providers.
