Free Sprinkler Nozzles Available!

at www.FreeSprinklerNozzles.com

EVMWD is partnering with Western Municipal Water District to offer up to 25 free Toro Precision sprinkler nozzles to our customers. The Toro nozzles are much more efficient than regular pop-up spray nozzles and can help customers save both water and money.

This program is only offered online! It is run by Western Municipal Water District (WMWD) and supplies are limited. Customers can go to the program site, fill out an application, print a voucher, and then redeem that voucher at a participating irrigation supply store. Program details and lots of information about the Toro nozzles at on the program website at www.FreeSprinklerNozzles.com

This is a program run by Western Municipal Water District which has extended it to EVMWD and other local agencies. EVMWD encourages its customers to take advantage of this program while it lasts. This program is in addition to EVMWD's regular program offering MP Rotators for $1 each. Both nozzles will help customers save water; customers will need to decide which nozzle best fits their needs.

Rebates for businesses available

Facilities with large landscapes, commercial kitchens and dental offices are among the Southland organizations eligible for money-saving rebates on water-saving devices offered by one of EVMWD's partner agencies, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

Metropolitan’s Save Water, Save A Buck program rebates are available to commercial, industrial and institutional customers for installing devices such as dry vacuum pumps, connectionless food steamers, ice-making machines and weather-based irrigation controllers. A total of 12 different water-saving devices are eligible for rebate.

The water savings can be significant. Businesses such as restaurants, delis, hotels and hospitals can reduce water use by upgrading to connectionless food steamers and air-cooled icemakers.

Rebate reservations are required for the "Save Water, Save A Buck" program, and must be made in advance of purchasing a device. Funding is limited, with reservations taken on a firstcome, first-served basis. Rebate amounts may change without notice. The program runs through April 30, 2011, or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Reduce Your Use! Change Your Sprinklers to MP Rotators!

EVMWD has a CHEAP way to reduce your outdoor water use by up to 20%!

All you have to do is convert your pop-up spray heads to MP Rotators and EVMWD will give you the sprinkler heads at cost—currently $1 per head!

Just call Conservation Specialist Rob Whipple at 951-674-3146 x8247 to sign up for this program.

You will need to:

1) Count your existing pop-up spray heads and identify how many 90s, 180s, and 360s you will need. Also, please note if you need Toro heads instead of Rainbird.

2) Call for an appointment to pick up your heads at the District Office

3) Install the heads promptly

EVMWD will verify installation of the sprinkler heads and then charge your bill at $1 per head.

Why Try MP Rotator Sprinkler Heads?

  • They are more efficient than pop-up spray heads
  • They do not mist or fog
  • They hold up better in the wind
  • They reduce runoff because they put down water at a slower rate
  • They are great on slopes
  • They water better in front of the sprinkler head
  • They are adjustable from 90°-210° and also come in full circle (360°)
  • They will retrofit Rainbird, Hunter and Toro sprinklers. They will not retrofit Orbit, Lawn Genie, or Champion
  • Tests have shown 20%-40% savings over pop-up spray heads
  • The changeout is easy, just unscrew the old ones and put on the new ones
  • They work best at 40psi

Gallons per flush: 1.28

High Efficiency Toilets are the latest in water saving technology for the bathroom. These toilets are well-engineered and well-tested and you should not have any problems with them (like double-flushing etc.). Please note that this list might not be complete and prices might have changed. Stores carrying HET's in the EVMWD service area include:

Lowes and Home Depot

Morrow Plumbing and Nootbaar Plumbing carry several different brands, call them for details.

The new Dixieline Lumber and Homecenter at the 215/Clinton Keith

High Efficiency Washing Machines (HECW)

These efficient front-loading machines use 40% less water and energy than top loading machines. They also use less soap and the clothes require less drying. There are now several top-loading machines that qualify for the rebate. For a list of qualifying washers with Water Factors of 4.0 or less please go to www.bewaterwise.com

Low-Flow Showerheads (2 gallons per minute)

EVMWD offers free low-flow showerheads at customer request. These are Earth Massage Showerheads made by Niagara and flow at 2 gallons per minute. They have a massage setting and a spray setting. New showerheads have a flow of at least 2.5 gallons per minute so even if you are changing out fairly new heads you can still save water.

Example for a 10 minute shower:

2.5 gpm at 10 minutes = 25 gallons

2.0 gpm at 10 minutes = 20 gallons (a 5 gallon savings!)

Showerheads can be picked up at the EVMWD District Office at 31315 Chaney St. Lake Elsinore.
