Landscape Workshops

EVMWD provides annual landscape workshops free to homeowners who wish to design a new landscape or convert existing landscape to low-water use. Classes include Landscape Design, Drip Irrigation, Native and California Friendly Plants, and Watering and Fertilizing. Flyers for the classes will be mailed to customers with their February (March class) and August (September class) water bills. The series is designed to educate homeowners on how to create and maintain a beautiful water-efficient landscape and are usually held on Saturday morning between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the EVMWD offices at 31315 Chaney Street (between Collier and Lakeshore), Lake Elsinore. The following classes are now offered:

September 29, 2007, Saturday---All about Native & California Friendly Plants

This class will introduce you to the wonderful variety and color of our native plants.  These plants are extremely drought tolerant and require a lot less maintenance and water than standard landscaping plants.  We will discuss alternatives to turf and other ground covers, plants for slopes, shade trees, and plants that attract wildlife.  If you're planning on planting this fall, you don't want to miss this class!

The workshop is offered free to the public and students will be provided with all necessary course instruction and materials. Registration is limited and students are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and pick up materials.
