Holidays: 12 paid holidays per year. Upon employment with the District for one year, employees receive a floating holiday, which may be taken, with prior approval, at any time during the year. Vacation: For all full-time employees, vacation leave is accrued as follows: Months of Active Service | Accrual Rate per Pay Period | 1 - 48 | 3.08 hours | 49 - 108 | 4.62 hours | 109 - 168 | 6.16 hours | 169 - 228 | 6.47 hours | 229 + | 6.78 hours | Part-time employees accrue vacation on a pro-rated basis. |
Sick Leave: For all full-time employees, sick leave is accrued at the rate of 3.70 hours per bi-weekly pay period for a total of 96.20 hours per year. Part-time employees accrue sick leave on a pro-rated basis. Health Insurance: The District provides health insurance to all employees and eligible dependents and currently contributes 95% of the premium cost of such insurance. Vision Insurance: The District provides vision care coverage for employees and their eligible dependents. Dental Insurance: All full-time employees and their dependents are provided dental insurance. Life Insurance: The District provides Life insurance to full-time employees at one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee’s annual base salary. Dependents are insured at $1,000 each. Additional life insurance is available at reduced rates to employees and their dependents. Retirement: Retirement is provided under the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and is based on a 2% at age 55 formula. Death benefits are included. In addition to the employer’s portion, the District currently pays the employee’s PERS contribution. Social Security: All employees are required to contribute to Social Security. The District matches the employee contribution. Benefits are provided for employees and their families for retirement and/or disability. Deferred Compensation: Deferred compensation is available on a voluntary basis to District employees. Contributions are made before taxes through payroll deduction. Employees can contribute up to a maximum of $15,000 per year. Flexible Spending Accounts Employees have the option to set aside pre-tax money from their paycheck to pay for un-reimbursed medical expenses or dependent care expenses. Workers’ Compensation: Employees with on-the-job injuries or illnesses are eligible for Workers’ Compensation benefits. Salary continuance is arranged through the Human Resources department, with employees permitted to use a combination of accrued sick leave and their workers’ compensation benefits. State Disability: Each employee contributes up to a maximum of $635.34 per year to insure disability coverage in the event of a non-work related injury or illness.
